“Peaux” par la compagnie de danse Passe-velours

Simple anecdote ? Peut-être. Mais suffisamment exceptionnelle pour mériter mention: au sortir d’un auditorium archi-comble hier, et suite à l’ovation de la salle, une femme me dit: “je n’aurais jamais pensé assister à un spectacle de danse qui me tire l’eau des yeux.” Tout est dit: sans complaisance comme sans pittoresque, le spectacle a su utiliser le langage brut des sons, des gestes et des témoignagnes d’ouvriers de la mégisserie pour composer un hymne à la mémoire et à sa transmission.

Un grand merci à la compagnie, aux enfants et aux habitants de Graulhet qui ont participé au spectacle, ainsi qu’à tous le partenaires de cette expérience hors du commun.

“SKINS” BY THE DANCE COMPANY PASSE-VELOURS

A simple anecdote ? Perhaps. But sufficiently exceptional to warrant mention: leaving the packed Auditorium yesterday, and following the ovation to the dancers, a woman said to me: “Never would I have thought a dance program could draw tears to my eyes.”  Her comment says it all: resorting neither to indulgence nor to the pittoresque, the choreography made use of the raw sounds, gestures and comments by tannery workers in order to compose a hymn to memory and to its transmittal.

A huge thank you to the dance company, to the children and to the inhabitants of Graulhet who took part in the show, and to all the partners of this exceptional experience.
